Another morning. I am the first awake. I’ve gotten the coffee made and the woodstove fire going, and I’m settled on the couch with my laptop and a cup of coffee.
I remember back when there was no such thing as emails, and people wrote letters. Often when I finally received a letter from family or friends, it would say:
After a winter of above normal temperatures, we plunged into colder yesterday. Last night we let the outside cats inside. They are outside cats because they can’t be fully trusted inside, but we don’t have the heart to leave them outside when it gets cold outside. My cat Rikki-Tikki-Tabby stuck very close to me all evening with loud purrs, and slept on me all night.
Yesterday was a workday.
This morning I took our poor Timmy to the veterinarian to get neutered. I hate leaving our pets at the vet because they are so scared there. This is what Timmy looked like when we got him home. We were told that he was still woozy from the anesthesia so it would be best to leave him in the cat carrier while he recovered. Otherwise he might bump into walls.
Today we drove JJ to the Secretary of State Office to get his Level 2 driver’s license. When we got home, we sent him off for his very first solo drive. Such a big day!
Here are pictures of the BIG DAY:
Today was a very busy day.
I think that I must have gotten more gray hair today after JJ’s driving test.
JJ takes his driving test TODAY at 3:30 p.m. EST.
I am trying to write this post with two cats–one (Timmy) sitting on my lap with his head resting on the keyboard and one (KeeKee) sitting next to me on my lap. It’s not easy writing this way, but in our house cats rule.
